Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, Pilsen (Czechia)
WE were invited to committee for the evaluation of the semester works
We were invited to the committee for the evaluation of the semester works of industrial design students of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art of the University of West Bohemia (Pilsen, Czechia). The day-long program included presentations by all undergraduate and graduate students. Students presented many different projects from the medical, automotive, concept art, product design and architecture segments. On the other hand, first-year students developed their skills in understanding inspiration, shape and materialization into clay shapes.
During our studies, we ourselves sometimes lacked direct and non-formal feedback, industry experience, and a different perspective. It’s sometimes difficult to hear things that are hard to say and even harder to hear, but without them, it takes longer to improve. Don’t get us wrong though – many students presented great projects and their passion for design and innovation was inspiring.
We tried to direct them and advise them on what to focus on, what to drop completely, and use their own strengths to develop unique solutions in the upcoming projects. We keep our fingers crossed for all the students during their studies and for their future work in practice. We are sure to hear a lot more about many of them. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for inviting us. We look forward to continuing our cooperation.
